GOOGLE PLAY CHANGE THE GAME CHALLENGE

Collaboration between Google Play X Girls Make Games to encourage the next generation of game developers!

In 2018, Erin Alvarico had been encouraged by her web design teacher to pursue this opportunity. It was the first-ever year of Google's CTG initiative, in which thousands of young girls applied to get their game design time in the spotlight!

Erin is 1 of 5 finalists of the CTG Challenge of 2018. Her game design, Symphony, was made into a game demo that launch Spring of 2019 o the Google Play App Store.

After Erin had received word of being 1 out of thousands of aspiring game designers nationwide, she and the other 4 finalists would be flown out to Los Angeles, CA to meet influential game designers from AAA companies.

In a 3 day celebration over on the west coast with family and new-found friends, the band of 5 finalists would be given the opportunity to make their game design come true: in collaboration with Girl Make Games, each designer would be given a small team of developers to create a demo version of their game.

Over the Summer, Fall, and Winter of 2018 the girls would be appointed Creative Director, in charge of game direction and concept art to help guide the team to a finalized product. Google would be taking care of the marketing and publishing of each girl's game.
